Three people, including a councillor of the local municipality, have been detained for vote rigging in three separate centres of Laksmipur-2 (Raipur and Sadar) constituency.
The detained are Ward-4 Councillor of the municipality Zakir Hossain Noman, Md Babla and Harunur Rashid. Details on the identities of the latter two are yet to be verified.

They were detained from the Keroa Shirajia Government Primary School and Chabilpur Government Primary School centres in Raipur.
Joint District and Sessions Judge Farhana Bhuiyan and Raipur Assistant Returning Officer (UNO) Najma Binte Amin confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon.
They said that three people, including Councillor Zakir Hossain Noman, were detained during an inspection of the centre. Further details will likely be revealed on Monday.
Farhana Bhuiyan, chairman of the electoral inquiry committee of Laksmipur-2 constituency, said: "Babla voted using someone else's national identity card. He is said to be a Boat activist. Harunur Rashid and Councillor Noman were detained for casting fake votes at other centres. The matter of three of them will be further investigated, then we will inform on the matter.”
