According to the Election Commission, the average voter turnout in the 12th national parliamentary elections was 41.80%.
Among the 298 parliamentary seats, the highest voter turnout was in the Gopalganj-3 constituency, at 87.24%.
On the other hand, the lowest turnout was in the Dhaka-15 constituency, with a rate of 13.04%.
In an analysis of the commission's results, it was observed that in the Gopalganj-3 constituency, out of 290,300 eligible votes, 253,247 votes were cast, marking a turnout of 87.24%.
In this constituency, the Awami League candidate and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina won with 249,962 votes, while her nearest rival from the Bangladesh Supreme Party, M Nizam Uddin Laskar, received 469 votes.
In the Dhaka-15 constituency, out of 344,507 eligible voters, only 44,936 votes were cast, resulting in a turnout of 13.04%.
In this constituency, Awami League's Kamal Ahmed Majumdar won with 39,632 votes, while the nearest competitor from the Jatiya Party, Shamsul Haque, received 2,044 votes.
In the election, more than 50% of votes were cast in 80 out of the 298 constituencies.
The voter turnout was comparatively lower in the 15 constituencies of Dhaka city. The highest voter turnout in the capital was in the Dhaka-12 constituency, with a rate of 30.05%, where the current Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan emerged victorious.
