Bangladesh Workers Party President and Boat candidate for Barisal-2 constituency Rashed Khan Menon has secured victory, as per the unofficial count.
Menon received 124,573 votes across 136 centres in the constituency. His nearest competitor was independent candidate AK Fayezul Haque Raju (Eagle symbol) with 32,019 votes, putting the margin of victory at 92,554 votes.

There were a total of 33 candidates in the six constituencies of Barisal. Among them, Jatiya Party candidate Iqbal Hossain Tapas and independent candidate Monirul Islam from Barisal-2 boycotted the election.
Monirul Islam now supports the Boat symbol.
Barisal-2 constituency has a total of 358,242 voters, including 182,364 male voters, 175,877 female voters, and one transgender voter. The voting in this constituency started in the morning in a festive environment and was peacefully conducted until 4pm.
Rashed Khan Menon has now been elected as a member of parliament for the sixth time, having previously won in 1979, 1991, 2008, 2014, and 2018.
