The announcement of the results of the voting in the Mymensingh-3 constituency has been postponed owing to balloting at one centre being called off on election day on Sunday.

The voters of the centre will exercise their franchise once again on January 13, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said on Monday.

He said the number of voters at the centres is 3,032.

The Awami League’s Nilufar Anjum bagged 53,196 votes, while her nearest rival, Somnath Saha with the Truck symbol, received 52,211 votes.

As the difference in votes is fewer than 1,000 – 985 to be exact – the final results will be announced after polling at the centre, the CEC added.
