Kazi Nabil secures sweeping victory in Jessore-3

He bagged 121,720 votes

Awami League-nominated candidate Kazi Nabil Ahmed has managed a resounding victory in the Jessore-3 constituency in the 12th national parliamentary election.

According to the results obtained from a total of 189 centres, he secured 121,720 votes with the Boat symbol. His nearest rival, independent candidate and Sadar upazila Awami League President Mohit Kumar Nath, got 64,511 votes with the Eagle symbol.

Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohammad Abraul Hasan Majumdar disclosed this information from the election booth set up in front of the deputy commissioner's office on Sunday evening. 

Voting took place in a peaceful environment from 8am-4pm. The counting is in progress. 

Earlier, Kazi Nabil Ahmed cast his vote at the Sebasangh High Girls' School centre at 11am on Sunday.
