Popular social media personality Ashraful Hossen Alom, better known as Hero Alom, said on Sunday that although the voting environment was satisfactory, voter turnout was alarmingly low.
Contesting as a candidate of Bangladesh Congress, he also expressed his optimism about winning the election, if there is no vote rigging.
He was unable to vote for himself in Bogra-4 as he is not a registered voter there, but he voted at Erulia Government Primary School in the Bogra-6 (Sadar) constituency on the day at 9:15am.

After voting, Hero Alom told the media: “I am proud to cast my vote in the Bogra-6 (Sadar) constituency as I am a voter in Erulia, next to my contesting constituency of Bogra-4.”
"I have no regret for not being able to vote for myself, and I am not afraid, though a cocktail exploded near my home on Saturday," Alom also said.
There are five candidates in Bogra-4 constituency.
Apart from Hero Alam, AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen of the 14-party alliance, is competing with the Boat symbol.
His main rival is former BNP leader and four-time former MP Ziaul Haque Mollah with the Eagle symbol.
In the by-election of the Bogura-4 constituency held last year, Hero Alom was defeated by AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), receiving only 834 votes.
Hero Alom previously ran for MP from the Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency as an independent candidate in the 11th national election, but was defeated.
