A case has been filed against Keraniganj Upazila Chairman Shahin Ahmed for assaulting the presiding officer of Abdullahpur Government Primary School of Teghoria Union in Dhaka-3 during the 12th national parliamentary election.
The presiding officer concerned, Moshalem Reza, filed the case with Dhaka's South Keraniganj police station on Sunday. The case alleged violation of election laws.

Dhaka Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Anisur Rahman has confirmed the filing of the case.
He said: “Today (Sunday), one of our presiding officers was beaten and insulted by the chairman of the upazila, Shahin Ahmed. Later, when the matter came to our attention, the presiding officer filed the case after talking to the concerned.”
Presiding Officer Moshalem Reza is currently working as the AGM of Keraniganj district Palli Bidyut Samity.
