Foreign election observers are visiting polling stations across Bangladesh on Sunday.

Former Member of Parliament of the European Parliament José Paulo Martins Casaca, while visiting a polling centre in Dhamrai, said Bangladesh’s election is participatory.

“In the women's booths, I saw the officials matching the faces of the voters with their voter list. I think it's going very nicely. I've been to other centers since the beginning. I saw a huge turnout of voters.”

He added that it is a shame that the main opposition parties have boycotted the polls.

In Khulna, two members of the Commonwealth went to the BL College centre at around 2:15pm.
