Voting in a polling station of Narsingdi-4 constituency has been cancelled due to allegations of irregularities.
The presiding officer cancelled the voting after discovering 12 ballot books with the seal of Awami League’s electoral symbol Boat.
The incident took place at Ibrahimpur Government Primary School centre in Sallabad Union of Belabo Upazila shortly after the voting began at 8am on Sunday.
Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Badiul Alam confirmed the information.
The returning officer said that the voting was cancelled due to allegations of ballot stuffing.
However, the exact number of stuffed ballots could not be immediately confirmed.
The candidates in the constituency are Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun (Boat), Md Kamal Uddin (Plough), Md Saiful Islam Khan (Biru) (independent), and Emdadul Haque Bhulan (Stick).
