Amu: Kazi Shahid Ahmed’s death an irreparable loss for Bangladesh

Amir Hossain Amu, member of Awami League's advisory council and coordinator of the 14-party alliance, in a condolence message, said Kazi Shahid Ahmed’s death is an irreparable loss for Bangladesh.

In his condolence message, Amu said: "Kazi Shahid Ahmed has made an outstanding contribution to the country's newspaper industry, education, and sports sector. His death is an irreparable loss to the country.”

He also prayed for the departed soul and extended his condolences to the grieving family members.

Kazi Shahid Ahmed breathed his last at 7:15pm on Monday. He was 82.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Dhanmondi Road 7 Mosque after Zuhr prayer and the second one at Gulshan Azad mosque after the Asr prayer on Tuesday. 

Then, the renowned entrepreneur will be laid to eternal rest at Banani Graveyard, according to family sources.

Born in 1940 in Jessore, his legacy is etched in his multifaceted contributions to various fields.

As the founder and chairman of the Gemcon Group, Kazi Shahid Ahmed left an indelible mark on the business landscape.
