Bangladesh Awami Swechasebak League’s Jhenaidah unit has protested the detention of Jhenaidah District Awami League General Secretary Saidul Karim Mintu for his alleged involvement in the murder of lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar in India.
Detectives of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police detained Saidul Karim Mintu on Tuesday.
The protestors formed a human chain and brought out a procession in Paiya Chattar area of the city on Wednesday.
Leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliate bodies joined the programs.

They alleged that Mintu was a victim of conspiracy, and demanded his quick release.
