The High Court has sought the list of restaurant workers arrested so far in the police case filed over the death of 46 people in a fire in the Green Cozy Cottage building on the capital's Bailey Road last month.

A High Court bench comprising Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Atabullah passed the order on Wednesday.

The court ordered the chief of police to submit the list within a month.

Besides, the court issued a ruling asking why the arrest of the workers should not be illegal.

A fire broke out in the Green Cozy Cottage building on Bailey Road at around 10:15pm on February 29.

Forty-six people were killed and 70 people were rescued alive from the building.

Later, on March 1, the police filed the case as the plaintiff. There have been allegations that many workers have been arrested in the case.
