Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday asked authorities in Bangladesh to hoist local cautionary signal no 3 at all maritime ports.
“The low-pressure area over the northwest bay and adjoining Odisha-west Bengal coasts now lie over north Odisha and adjoining area. Due to active monsoon deep convection is taking place over north bay. Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh,” The BMD predicted.
Maritime Ports Of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no 3, reads the BMD bulletin.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
