House of Han, a specialty Chinese restaurant led by Master Chinese Chef Chen, opened at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport on Sunday, introducing a dining concept centered on traditional Chinese cuisine, culinary craftsmanship and what its management describes as “honest luxury”.
The restaurant combines Chinese culinary traditions with contemporary presentation, elegant interiors and personalized hospitality, aiming to offer an authentic Chinese dining experience in the capital.
According to the restaurant, its menu reflects Chef Chen’s approach to Chinese cooking, drawing on traditional techniques, heritage and time-honored flavors while incorporating his own creative expression.
Duck is among the restaurant’s signature offerings, with its preparation, carving and presentation forming an integral part of the dining experience.
Speaking at the launch, Ashwani Nayar, area general manager for IHG Southwest Asia and cluster general manager for Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport and InterContinental Dhaka, said House of Han represents Chef Chen’s culinary vision.
“Our ambition is to bring honest, authentic Chinese cuisine to Dhaka in a setting that is equally luxurious. From the flavors on the plate to the interiors and the warmth of our service, every element has been thoughtfully considered,” he said.
Describing the restaurant’s concept in 2 words, Nayar said: “honest luxury”.
Chef Chen said Chinese cuisine is deeply rooted in heritage, respect for ingredients and techniques passed down through generations.
“At House of Han, my aim is to honor those traditions while bringing my own creativity and care to every dish. I look forward to welcoming guests to my table and sharing the flavors and craftsmanship that make this cuisine so special,” he said.
Located at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport, the restaurant is designed to accommodate business meetings, family gatherings and special celebrations.
It features 10 private dining rooms for guests seeking privacy and personalized service, providing spaces for business discussions and private occasions with family and friends.
With its opening, House of Han joins Dhaka’s growing fine-dining landscape, placing traditional Chinese culinary practices, contemporary presentation and hospitality at the center of its offering.
