US-Bangla plane crash survivor Shahin returning home

Shahin Bepari, one of the 10 Bangladeshis who was injured in the US-Bangla plane crash in Nepal, is being brought back to Bangladesh. Shahin is leaving Kathmandu on a commercial flight around 1:30pm (Nepal local time) on Sunday, said Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s (DMCH) burn unit Associate Professor Dr Hossain Imam, who is in Nepal as part of the Bangladeshi medical team. Shahin will be accompanied by Dr Abdullah Al Mamun, a member of Bangladeshi medical team, he said. Another survivor Kabir Hossain will be sent back from Kathmandu on Monday, said Dr Imam, adding that both Shahin and Kabir who have burn injuries, will be admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s burn unit. Dr Hossain Imam said injured Eakub Ali, who sustains head injuries, may fly to India’s Delhi around 4pm on Sunday. So far, five crash survivors have been brought back to Dhaka and all of them are undergoing treatment at the DMCH. On March 12, a plane operated by Bangladeshi airline US-Bangla crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport with 71 people on board. At least 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, were killed. Of them, 17 Bangladeshis out of 32 victims have been identified.
