The daily percentage of people testing positive for Covid-19 in Bangladesh remains over 3% for the second consecutive day.
In the 24 hours to Saturday morning, 407 infections were reported with the daily test positivity rate standing at 3.30%.
The country also registered five more deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally up to 8,400.
With the latest developments, the number of all confirmed cases now stands at 545,831, according to the daily virus update by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) released on Saturday afternoon.
The overall positivity percentage on Saturday was, however, 13.54% with a total of 4,030,616 tests being conducted across the country till now.

As many as 12,348 samples, including the pending ones, were tested in the 214 authorized labs — government and private — across the country.
Of the five deceased – four men and one woman – four were from Dhaka division and one from Chittagong.
All of them breathed their last while undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.
The mortality rate against the total number of cases detected so far stands at 1.54%.
The health authorities said 609 people recovered from the disease over the preceding 24 hours.
So far, 496,107 patients – 90.859% of all infected – have made full recovery across the country.
On March 8, the health authorities in Bangladesh reported the first three cases of Covid-19, a severe acute respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus strain which was later named Sars-CoV-2.
The novel coronavirus broke out in China's Wuhan city in late December of 2019 and quickly spread throughout the world, becoming a pandemic in less than three months.
The fast-spreading coronavirus has claimed more than 2,531,102 lives and infected as many as 114,070,319 people across the world till Friday afternoon, according to worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics.
As many as 89,617,905 people have recovered from Covid-19 which has affected 219 countries and territories across the planet.
