Krishak Sramik Janata League President Abdul Kader Siddique Bir Uttom on Wednesday said he is participating in the January 7 polls as they are being held under the Election Commission (EC) and not Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Kader Siddique, known as Bangabir Kader Siddique for his bravery in the country’s Liberation War, said these after submitting his nomination form for the Tangail-8 constituency to the local returning officer.
He said the BNP is not thinking about the country and is trying to come to power with help from international powers.
“The election will be acceptable to all if a large number of voters cast their ballots, even if some parties do not join the polls,” he said, adding that the voters should be able to cast their votes peacefully.
