Talking from America does not make you great, he tells Joy

Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabir Kader Siddique Bir Uttam said that the identity of Bangladesh remains incomplete without Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He said this at a public meeting of Krishak Sramik Janata League in Tangail on Monday afternoon.

Referring to the removal of mayors of city corporations and municipalities, chairmen of district councils and upazila parishads across the country, he said: “First the chairmen and mayors were removed. Then will you remove the name of Bangabandhu? His name is the Father of the Nation. If the father of the nation is removed, then the child will have no identity.”

The valiant freedom fighter added that Bangladesh does not belong to the Awami League, BNP, or Jamaat. “If you want to do politics, you have to respect people. Those who do not respect people have no right to do politics.”

On August 15, while going to pay respects at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32 in Dhaka, the vehicle of Banga Bir Kader Siddique was vandalized.

Regarding this attack, he said: “Some people say it was the BNP, some say it was Jamaat-Shibir. I say it was the devil. If vandalizing another one of my vehicles would bring peace to the country, I would have no regrets.”

Referring to recent comments made by Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, he said: “Joy, the things you say cause a lot of pain to those who are here. Those who used to be like your mother’s shoes are now struggling to survive.

“Don't make people's suffering worse by saying one thing in the morning and another in the afternoon. Learn manners, grow up. Talking from America doesn’t make you great.”
