The three-day long Marcel 3rd National Women’s Baseball Tournament, sponsored by Walton Group and organized by Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association, will get underway Sunday in Dhanmondi’s Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex.
The details of the tournament were announced in a press conference Thursday at Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium, Bangladesh Olympic Association in Dhaka where BBSA general secretary Aminul Islam Liton and tournament committee secretary Azam Ali were present among others.
A total of eight teams divided into two groups will take part in the competition – two-time winner Bangladesh Ansar, twice runners-up Bangladesh Police, newcomer Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation, Dhaka, USCD Gazipur, Community Sports Club Dhaka, SKSP and Solaiman Sporting Club Dhaka.
The group champions and runners-up sides will advance to the semi-finals.
