Coke Studio Bangla has unveiled its Season 3 finale with a moving new rendition of the Sufi classic “Mast Qalandar,” featuring the iconic Runa Laila in a rare and emotional return to one of her most beloved songs.

Produced by Shayan Chowdhury Arnob and Adit Rahman, the track blends the devotional heart of Qawwali with the textures of Bangladeshi folk.

It opens with a soulful Hason Raja verse sung by Makhon Mia, before expanding into a rich, cross-generational soundscape featuring veterans like Foad Nasser Babu alongside rising Coke Studio Bangla voices.

For Runa Laila, whose six-decade career spans 18 languages and a continent’s worth of musical history, “Mast Qalandar” remains a defining piece.

“Performing it again in a new style with younger musicians has been a rewarding experience,” she said.

“I’m happy this song finds life across generations.”

Arnob, who has shaped Coke Studio Bangla’s artistic identity since launch, calls the finale a celebration of memory and cultural pride.

“This song carries the weight of devotion and identity,” he said.

“Bringing Runa Laila apu’s voice back to this anthem is a moment of collective pride.”
