In Pictures: Hundreds of shops gutted in massive Bangabazar fire

A massive fire broke out at Bangabazar market in Dhaka, prompting the closure of surrounding roads and deployment of 48 units of fire service personnel on Tuesday morning. 

The fire spread to nearby buildings, causing widespread damage. A joint support team of the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Air Force, and Fire Service and Civil Defense personnel worked to control the fire, while angry protestors vandalized the Fire Service and Civil Defense head office.
