In pictures: Bangabazar market in ashes after devastating fire

As the devastating Bangabazar fire was completely doused after three days, sacks full of clothes were seen piled up on the road while people were seen salvaging their goods and debris from thousands of burnt-out shops. 

The images depict the charred remains of the shops and stalls, with burnt-out structures and debris littering the market area.

The annihilating blaze that broke out on Tuesday burned around 5,000 shops to the ground, causing damage worth Tk2,000 crore and shattering the dreams of many traders who had invested everything ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
