Jatiya Party (JaPa) General Secretary Mujibul Haque Chunnu on Thursday admitted that there are many questions among the people regarding the party’s past activities, but party leaders will do the needful so that these questions do not arise in the future.
He also urged everyone to keep faith in the party, saying that JaPa will be able to fulfil the responsibility of the opposition party in the parliament thoroughly.
Chunnu was speaking to reporters after paying tribute to party founder and late president General HM Ershad in Rangpur on Thursday.
He said: “We will do whatever is necessary as an opposition party so that these questions do not come up again. This time, the leader of the opposition in parliament is our party chairman, GM Quader.”
Highlighting their presence in the previous parliaments, Chunnu reminded everyone that Anisul Islam Mahmud, who has been appointed as the deputy leader of the opposition party, was elected seven times as a member of parliament (MP).
