In preparation for the 12th national parliamentary election, the Awami League plans to incorporate the opinions of communities at the grassroots into its manifesto.
To facilitate the manifesto formulation process and gather insights into various sectors of the country, the manifesto preparation sub-committee issued a letter on Saturday to its grassroots leaders nationwide.
The letter outlines the initiative for the Awami League's manifesto and urges upazila committees of the party to convene meetings within their respective areas.
These meetings are designed to engage with representatives of low-income individuals, such as farmers, labourers, local traders and workers.
The aim is to understand their expectations from the Awami League regarding the upcoming election and any related manifesto.
The manifesto formulation sub-committee encourages the inclusion of various topics, and all relevant reports are requested to be submitted to the sub-committee at the political office of the Awami League president in Dhanmondi by November 2.
Emphasizing the importance of grassroots inputs the sub-committee underscores that the Awami League's manifesto is not merely a party document but represents the aspirations of the entire nation. Gathering opinions from people at the grassroots is crucial to shaping the party's agenda effectively for the election.
