A Dhaks court in Monday sent to jail nine more leaders and activists of the activities-banned Awami League (AL) and its front organization in a case filed over their alleged flash procession in the capital's Gulshan area on September 11.
The accused are Mozammel Haque, Edrisul Alam, Ismail Siraji, Joynal Abedin Mamun, Billal Gazi, Jayanta Kumar Baroi, Sohel, Arifur Rahman Dipu and Nirob Khan.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana passed the order as police produced them before the court and pleaded to keep them behind bars till the end of probe.
Earlier on Sunday, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam sent nine other accused to jail in the case.
According to the case documents, the accused brought out a flash procession on Road 3 in Gulshan-1 around 11:50 am on September 11. They exploded a couple of crude bombs and created panic in the area.
Police later filed the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
