Abu Ahmed Mannafi has been picked as the new president of Awami League Dhaka South City unit while Sharfuddin Ahmed Sentu as the general secretary of the unit.
Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and SM Mannan Kochi were made president and general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Dhaka North unit respectively.
The new leaders were chosen at the triennial council of Dhaka North and South City units of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday, reports UNB.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also the Awami League President, opened the council as the chief guest by hoisting the national flag as well as releasing pigeons and balloons.
The last council of undivided Dhaka City Awami League was held on December 27, 2012.
