Jatiya Party has replaced ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader as secretary general with Presidium Member Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga.
Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad sent Ranga the directive by letter on Monday –stating that the change would be effective immediately.
Ranga – also the state minister for Rural Development and Co-operatives under the Ministry of Local Government – will carry out his duties as the party’s secretary general alongside those of a presidium member, said Delwar Jalali, Ershad’s deputy press secretary.
However, the reason behind the removal of Howlader is yet to be known.
