She will attend the inauguration of the International Fleet Review 2022 at Inani Beach of the district.

Later, she is scheduled to address a large meeting organized by the district unit Awami League at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium as the chief guest.

On the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to Cox's Bazar, extensive preparations have been made by the district Awami League and law enforcement agencies.

The visit holds a lot of importance as the premier is visiting the district after over five years.

According to several sources at the Cox's Bazar district Awami League, all the preparations for the meeting have already been taken. Awami League workers and activists spent weeks preparing banners and festoons for the day.

Cox's Bazar district unit Awami League General Secretary and Municipal Mayor Mujibur Rahman said that this year's public meeting by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very important as more mega projects are being implemented in Cox's Bazar than in other areas of Bangladesh.

He noted that over 450,000 people are expected to join the meeting from the stadium, Laboni beach point, Sugandha point, and other nearby areas.

For that reason, more than two hundred microphones will be used at various locations, he added.

The senior leader also said that the stage for the prime minister will be boat-shaped.

“It will have four sub-stages, where central leaders, and district leaders will take place separately. At the same time, there will be a separate stage for the inauguration and cultural programs,” he mentioned.

Besides, the acting President of Cox's Bazar district unit Awami League Advocate Faridul Alam Chowdhury said that they are expecting people will start gathering at the venue since 10am.

“Many from different upazilas of the district will come to Cox's Bazar city on Tuesday. All preparations have been made so that over 500,000 people attend the meeting easily,” he added.

In this regard, the Additional Superintendent of Police of Cox's Bazar Rafiqul Islam said that the law enforcers preparing for the arrival of the prime minister.

“All measures are being taken to ensure the overall safety of the officials and public,” he added.
