A fire at BM Container Depot in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong late on Saturday killed at least 28 people. More than 400 people were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) with burns and injuries sustained in the fire.

The huge number of admissions has resulted in a chaotic situation at the hospital – there is a medicine crisis and the doctors on duty are struggling to tend all of the injured.
