BM container depot fire: Man asks for forgiveness from father before death
He lost one of his legs at the explosion
“I have already lost one of my legs. I have started reciting Kalima. Maybe I will not survive, please forgive me,” these are the last words of 25-year-old Mominul Haque, one of the victims of Chittagong’s BM container depot fire.
Retired school teacher Faridul Alam Chowdhury, Mominul’s father, burst into tears while uttering the words spoken by his son just before his death.

“Mominul called me once in the night and informed me about the fire at the container depot. I asked him to stay safe,” Faridul Alam Chowdhury told Bangla Tribune.
He further said that he tried to call his son for updates, but Mominul did not receive his calls.
“After a while, he called me and asked me to forgive him,” he added.

Mominul was a computer operator at the depot, and was working there for only three months.
He was a master’s student in Govt Hazi Mohammad Mohsin College.

So far 20 people have been killed and over 450 injured in the fire that broke out at BM Container Depot in Chittagong’s Sitakunda upazila on Saturday night.
Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defense Assistant Director Md Faruk Hossain Sikdar said that the number of casualties may increase.
