Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has taken responsibility for the treatment of Muktamoni, who is suffering from a mysterious disease which resulted in a malignant growth on her arm.
The 11-year-old-girl from Satkhira was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from better treatment around 11pm on Monday.
Earlier in the day, a team led by Satkhira Civil Surgeon Tohidur Rahman visited Muktamoni house.
Satkhira Civil Surgeon Tohidur Rahman confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
Muktamoni father Ibrahim Hossain said: “I am very happy that Directorate General of Health Services has taken the responsibility of my daughter’s treatment.
“I do not need money. I just want everyone to pray that my daughter returns home fully cured.”

Muktamoni also urged everyone to pray for her.
The malignant growth on Muktamoni’s right arm – as big as her torso and weighs nearly as much as her body – has festered with an outbreak of parasitic infection on her arm.
Doctors have so far been unsuccessful in identifying the condition.
