A case has been filed in Nabiganj of Habiganj on the charge of gang-raping a housewife.
On Monday night, the victim filed a case against three people at Nabiganj police station.
According to the case statement, a housewife from Syedpur area of Nabiganj upazila was going to Majlishpur from Sherpur via CNG on Sunday evening.
Rather than dropping her off at Majlishpur, the CNG driver took her to different places with her hands, feet and face tied.
She was later gang-raped in an abandoned building of the Auskandi union parishad.
After raping her all night, she was sent back to her relative's house on the CNG the next morning.
Later, some local representatives tried to cover-up the issue through a local arbitration. When news of the incident spread in the area, the police reached the spot and rescued the victim.
Assistant Superintendent of Nabiganj-Bahubal Circle police station Parvez Alam Chowdhury said a case has been filed mentioning the names of three people involved in the incident.
Police are conducting raids at various places to arrest the accused. However, he said that the victim is giving different statements at different times which is causing confusion in the investigation.
