Another consignment of 1.77 million doses of the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine under the Covax facility has arrived in Dhaka.
The Biman flight carrying the vaccine doses reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:50pm on Wednesday.
The consignment had left from Beijing on an Emirates Airlines flight at 7:20am (local time) on Wednesday and had a loyover at Doha.
The information was confirmed by Hualong Yan, the deputy chief of mission at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, in a post on Facebook.
On Tuesday, Bangladesh received Sinopharm's 1.7 million doses of vaccine under the Covax facility.
With the latest consignment, Bangladesh has received a total of 11.57 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine so far.
The country earlier received 7 million doses of the vaccine, which it bought, from China.

Besides, China also sent 1.1 million Sinopharm doses as a gift to Bangladesh in two consignments back in July.
Earlier, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen had said that Bangladesh will receive six million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in September.
Apart from that, he said the country will soon also receive one million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, which is likely to come under the Covax facility.
