  • Tushar Kanti Mandal says he will win by a margin of 50,000 votes
  • JaPa chief GM Quader his opponent
Update : 16 Dec 2023, 09:17 PM

Awami League candidate Tushar Kanti Mandal has announced that he will defeat Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader by a margin of 50,000 votes.

He declared that he intends to make history by winning the Rangpur 3 seat, which the Awami League has not won in 43 years.

Rangpur's senior JaPa leaders refuse to consider the Awami League candidate's challenge. They said that the Awami League's mayor nominee in the city corporation election not only lost terribly to JaPa's mayor candidate, but also his security bond was confiscated.

Awami League candidate Tushar Kanti Mandal said that Rangpur was once a stronghold of Jatiya Party and always claimed by Jatiya Party. But Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's unprecedented development in the past 15 years has caused cracks in Jatiya Party's fortress long ago. The common people of Rangpur Sadar 3 constituency have now turned their backs on Jatiya Party.

Awami candidate Tushar Kanti Mandal's statement is being called a mere stand-off and the leaders of the Jatiya Party are saying it is a trick to stay in the discussion.

District Jatiya Party General Secretary Abdur Razzak said that Tushar Kanti Mandal could not secure the party candidate while serving as Awami League General Secretary. Rangpur will remain a stronghold of the Jatiya Party. He expressed confidence that the party's chairman will win the next election with a significant number of votes.

The Rangpur Sadar, with a registered voter count of 519,970, remains a key battleground for both political contenders.
