Brac University authorities on Sunday accepted the final of four point demands made by protesting students during a week long stand-off. In line with the demand, all examinations of the University have been shifted from their originally scheduled dates.
The first day of this year's final examinations shall now be Wednesday, August 9, instead of Sunday, August 6, according to a revised schedule posted on the Brac University website from the Pro Vice-Chancellor's office.

As per the new schedule, the last day of examinations will now be August 19, while results are scheduled to be published on August 24.
In an additional note with the schedule, the pro VC's office said that exams which had been scheduled by individual departments in advance, on August 4 and 5, may be shifted to Friday afternoon, August 18, or Saturday, August 19, as admissions tests scheduled for the Friday are set for only the morning session. Otherwise, exams for these two dates may be set at any time between August 9-21, considering there is mutual consent between department authorities and students.

Earlier on Saturday, the university authorities circulated a notice announcing that they had accepted three of the four-point demands from agitating students, including reinstatement of School of Law lecturer Farhaan Uddin Ahmed, and accepting Registrar Muhammad Sahool Afzal’s application of long leave and the resignation letters of Assistant Registrar Md Mahi Uddin and Senior Officer Jabed Rasel.
Students had been holding protests as Farhaan was allegedly assaulted by Registrar Muhammad Sahool and his two cohorts on Sunday, July 30.
