The High Court has set Sunday as the date for its decision regarding a writ petition seeking a ban on the transfer or selling of assets of S Alam Group.

After hearing the petition on Thursday, the bench comprising Justice Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah and Justice Kazi Zinat Haque issued the order.

Lawyer Md Rukunuzzaman represented the petitioners during the hearing.

A writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking its directives for the concerned government bodies to prepare a list of property owned by S Alam Group and a ban on selling and transferring of those property.

The petition seeks a directive to submit a list of all immovable properties owned by S Alam Group and its shareholder directors and their family members.

Additionally, the writ asks for information regarding the amount of loans taken by S Alam Group from various banks and financial institutions, the current status of those loans, any money that has been laundered abroad, and a list of all immovable properties, along with a request to freeze those assets.

It also requests a ban on the exit of company directors and their family members from the country without the court’s permission.

On September 11, the petitioner's lawyer sent a legal notice to relevant authorities requesting necessary information regarding the total amount of loans taken by S Alam Group’s shareholders, directors, and related businesses, along with their current status and liabilities.

This notice was sent to the Governor of Bangladesh Bank, the Finance Secretary, the Law Secretary, the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, and S Alam Group's Chairman Saiful Alam.

However, after receiving no response to the notice, the writ was filed in the High Court.
