Chief Justice has removed High Court Justice Md Abdul Mannan from judicial duties following allegations of misconduct at an event in Comilla, Supreme Court sources said on Thursday.
According to sources, the judge was not assigned to any of the 63 benches constituted on April 16, effectively barring him from judicial work.
The move comes after a video showing Justice Mannan allegedly behaving inappropriately at an event at the Apex Club in Comilla on April 3 went viral on social media.
In the footage, he is seen identifying himself as a judge and engaging in a heated exchange, which drew widespread criticism.
Md Abdul Mannan was appointed as a High Court judge on October 9, 2024. He previously served as the district and sessions judge of Pirojpur.
