The Supreme Court (SC) has extended the period of bail and injunction on case proceedings for two weeks following the week-long Covid lockdown starting from Monday.
The circular also added that a magistrate will deal with cases in every district through physical presence strictly following health safety guidelines.
Meanwhile, both the divisions of the Supreme Court will hold their proceedings on a limited scale during the lockdown.
The Supreme Court issued separate notifications in this regard on Monday.
Also according to a notification signed by Appellate Division Registrar Md Badrul Alam Bhuiyan, the chamber judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court will hold hearing on emergency matters only through virtual presence by using information technology on Tuesday and Thursday from April 5 to 11.
Besides, a High Court Division notification signed by Registrar General Md Ali Akbar said that High Court benches will hold their proceedings on a limited scale to deal with the very urgent, writ, civil, criminal, and company admiralty related matters only through virtual presence by using information technology.
The notifications were posted on the website of the Supreme Court.
