The opening ceremony of the 2nd Bangabandhu Gold Cup Inter University Football Tournament-2022 was held on June 16 at BUFT Sports Complex in Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka, said a press release.
Teams from 18 universities, including the football team of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology are participating in the tournament.
In the tournament’s first game, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology faced Bangladesh University of Textiles.
Md Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, State Minister for Youth and Sports, graced the event as the chief guest.
Muzaffar U Siddique, Founder Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT, chaired the function.
He handed over a flower bouquet and crest to the chief guest of the program.
Other members of the BUFT Board of Trustees Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), MP, Md Moshiul Azam (Shajal), and Professor Dr Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Vice-Chancellor, World University, were also present at the program.
Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, Registrar, Director of Students Welfare, Director of Administration, CFO, Head of Logistics, Project Director, Deans, all heads of the academic and administrative departments, faculty members, officials, staff of BUFT, along with media personnel, and students were present during the event.
