Syed Manzur Elahi, one of Bangladesh's leading businesspersons, and his wife Niloufer Manzur have tested positive for Covid-19.
Confirming the matter, their son Syed Nasim Manzur said: "My father is being treated at home while my mother is undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital [CMH]."
Nasim, however, sought blessings from all for his parents.
Chairman of conglomerate Apex Group, Manzur Elahi was also a former adviser to two caretaker governments.
Niloufer is the founding head of Sunbeams School in Dhaka.
On behalf of the family, Grey Advertising Bangladesh Ltd, in a press statement, said Niloufer Manzur is undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of CMH, where she is receiving the best possible care.
"Manzur Elahi has not developed any symptoms so far by Allah's grace, and he is at home," it added.
