After the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, working people have begun returning to Dhaka at a leisurely pace.
The holidays ended last Tuesday. However, those who took an extra 2-3 days of leave are returning to their workplaces.
There is no rush at Dhaka's Kamalapur Railway Station after Eid.
According to the relevant authorities, people who left Dhaka to celebrate Eid are returning gradually.
This scenario was observed on Friday at Kamalapur Railway Station.
Aminul Islam, a private company employee, returned from Dinajpur after the holidays. He said: "I celebrated Eid with my parents, wife, and children. I had a three-day leave. I took an additional three days of leave. I had a good time with my family. The holidays are over, and the children's school will reopen, so I returned."
Niyamun Nasir returned to Dhaka from Nilphamari. He said: "I only got a four-day leave for Eid. Travelling such a long distance in such a short break is difficult. So, I took two extra days off. I spent six days on vacation. Both the train journeys were good. There were no problems."
Another passenger, Siddiqur Rahman, who came from Rangpur, said: "I came to Dhaka without any hassle; there were not many passengers on the train. It was not like the usual rush during Eid. Maybe everyone had planned to return slowly."
Shahadat Hossain, the station master of Dhaka Railway Station, said: "The advance ticket journey started on Thursday. The passenger pressure is normal. Passengers can return to their destinations comfortably."
Meanwhile, while many are returning to Dhaka after their holidays, those who did not get a holiday during Eid are now leaving Dhaka to spend time with their families.
Faridur Rahman Akash was going from Dhaka to Chapainawabganj. He works at a clothing store in a shopping mall in Dhaka. He said: "I was on duty until the night before Eid. That is why I could not go home for Eid. So, I am going today."
According to railway station sources, while around 70 pairs of trains left the capital until the day before Eid, only one mail train operated on Eid day. However, on Tuesday, the second day of Eid, two-thirds of the trains operated from Kamalapur. The railway authorities said that all trains have been running since Wednesday.
