Dipu seals gold in Int’l Taekwondo

A total of 800 players from 12 nations participated in the competition

Bangladesh Army’s Dipu Chakma claimed the gold medal in the men’s singles of the U-39 category at the 3rd Kathmandu International Taekwondo Championship in Nepal.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party’s Mohammad Kamrul Islam bagged the silver in the men’s singles of the U-23 event.

A three-member team, comprising two athletes and an official, represented Bangladesh in the four-day event.

A total of 800 players from 12 nations participated in the competition.

Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation expressed hope that these results will inspire its players for the forthcoming 13th South Asian Games, slated for December 1 to 10 in Kathmandu.
