Gold prices cut again

Gold prices have been adjusted 46 times so far this year

Update : 25 Mar 2026, 11:20 AM

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has announced another reduction in gold prices in the local market, with the price of 22-carat gold lowered by Tk5,482 per bhori to Tk241,445.

The new rates were set at a meeting of Bajus’ Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Wednesday morning and came into effect nationwide from 10:30am.

Bajus said the adjustment was made in line with a decline in the price of pure (acid) gold in the local market, considering overall market conditions.

Under the revised rates, 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk230,481 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been set at Tk197,530. Gold produced under the traditional method will be sold at Tk160,905 per bhori.

Earlier, on March 19, Bajus adjusted gold prices twice within less than six hours, reducing the rate by a total of Tk15,338 per bhori.

According to Bajus data, gold prices have been adjusted 46 times so far this year—26 increases and 20 decreases. In 2025, prices were adjusted 93 times, including 64 increases and 29 decreases.

Despite the drop in gold prices, silver rates remain unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is being sold at Tk5,365 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk5,132, 18-carat at Tk4,432, and traditional silver at Tk3,324 per bhori.
