Update : 01 Apr 2026, 10:54 AM

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has decided to increase gold prices in the domestic market once again.

Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold—the highest quality—has been set at Tk247,976 per bhori, up from Tk244,710, marking an increase of Tk3,266 per bhori.

The decision was made at an emergency meeting of Bajus’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Wednesday.

In a statement, the association said the price hike was driven by an increase in the international market price of pure gold. The new rates came into effect from 10am on Wednesday.

According to the revised prices:

  • 21-carat gold: Tk236,720 per bhori
  • 18-carat gold: Tk203,877 per bhori
  • Traditional method gold: Tk165,262 per bhori

Per gram prices:

  • 22-carat: Tk21,260
  • 21-carat: Tk20,295
  • 18-carat: Tk17,395
  • Traditional gold: Tk14,170

Silver prices per gram:

  • 22-carat: Tk490
  • 21-carat: Tk465
  • 18-carat: Tk400'
  • Traditional silver: Tk430

Bajus said these rates will remain effective at all jewellery outlets across the country until further notice, with a 5% VAT to be collected and deposited into the government treasury.
