Bangladesh team will take on Iraq in the opening match of the Asian Volleyball Championship 2018, scheduled to get underway Saturday in Sri Lanka.
Besides host Sri Lanka, Iraq, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Mongolia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Mauritius will also take part in the tournament, slated to end on September 22.
The tournament will be held in accordance with the single round robin format. Following the tournament, the Bangladesh team will return home on September 23.
Bangladesh team underwent a month-long training camp in Iran, under the supervision of head coach Ali Pour Arozi, as part of their preparation for the tournament. The team went to Sri Lanka from Iran Thursday.
