Bangladesh national men's volleyball team continued their impressive form as they came from behind to beat Sri Lanka by 3-2 set to reach the semifinal of CAVA Men's Volleyball Championship 2026 held at Liaquat Gymnasium in Islamabad, Pakistan on Monday.
In a highly competitive contest, Bangladesh displayed remarkable determination, resilience and excellent teamwork to defeat Sri Lanka and register their fourth victory of the tournament.
After narrowly losing the opening two sets by 24-26, 24-26, Bangladesh staged a brilliant comeback by winning the next three sets by 25-23, 25-21 and 15-12.
Bangladesh reached the last-four as second-best team in the six-team round robin league concluded on Monday.
They will face Uzbekistan in the second semifinal on Tuesday. Pakistan take on Kazakhstan in the first semifinal earlier on the same day.
Bangladesh beat Uzbekistan by 3-2 set in their tournament opener but the boys in red and green suffered a straight 3-0 set defeat to host Pakistan in their second match.
Bangladesh, however, fought back as they beat Kazakhstan by 3-2 set in the third and beat Nepal also by the same margin of 3-2 set in the fourth match.
