Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib took solo lead in the Walton International Fide Rating Chess Tournament 2018 after beating Fide Master Khairul Aminul Islam in the eighth round at the chess federation hall-room Sunday.
With only a round left to play, Saif Sporting's Razib, the national champion, earned 7.5 points from eight games while Sonkalan Bharati of India secured second place with seven points after beating Sharif Hossain.
FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Sheikh Russel Chess Club, Aminul, FM Mohammad Javed and Candidate Master SM Sharon of Bangladesh Navy were tied for third place with 6.5 points each.
