They are– Sabbir Hossain and Ashiqur Rahman, general secretaries of BCL Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Wari units respectively, according to a BCL statement released on Sunday night.
The move came four days after a national daily published a photo of the duo with firearms during a clash over an eviction drive, conducted by DSCC at Gulistan area in the city.
The party’s general secretary Obaidul Quader spoke of their expulsion for the party.
He said it was a strict order from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take action against anyone who would violate the rules of the party.
“We have already expelled the two from the party, following that direction,” he said at a meeting organized at Suchona Community Centre in the capital’s Mohammadpur, yesterday afternoon.
