To ensure justice for students subjected to attacks by Chhatra League across educational institutions in the country and to preserve the truth, Chhatra Dal has established an “Information and Evidence Collection Cell on Student Abuse” and a “Legal Aid Cell.”
The information was announced in a press release signed by Md Jahangir Alam, Central Office Secretary of Chhatra Dal, on Wednesday.
The press release stated that under the fascist rule of the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina from 2009 to 2024, Chhatra League activists have committed severe abuses against Chhatra Dal and other opposition group members, as well as ordinary students, in a barbaric manner.
This has resulted in gross violations of law and human rights, said the release.
Additionally, this fascist force has severely politicized the judiciary, obstructing proper investigation and justice for these heinous incidents.
In response, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Dhaka University, has formed the “Information and Evidence Collection Cell on Student Abuse” and the “Legal Aid Cell” to secure justice and preserve the true history of student abuse cases.
Nahiduzzaman Shipon, member of the Information and Evidence Collection Cell and General Secretary of Dhaka University Chhatra Dal, told Dhaka Tribune: “This cell has been formed to identify those involved in Chhatra League's abuses and to take legal action against them.”
Nasir Uddin Nasir, Central General Secretary of Chhatra Dal, stated to Dhaka Tribune: “We will work to ensure justice for all incidents of Chhatra League attacks on students from 2008 to 2024. Our team will work to bring the identified terrorists of Chhatra League under the law.”
