The ruling Awami League is set to start streaming its press conferences, instructions and awareness programs on Covid-19 (coronavirus) online.
The party took the decision during an informal meeting at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi office on Monday. Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader and some top leaders of the party’s central committee were present.
Party office sources said all preparations for holding online press conferences have already been completed.
Awami League Office Secretary and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Special Assistant Barrister Biplab Barua told Dhaka Tribune: "From now on, all kinds of party press conferences will be streamed live online. We made this decision [on Monday].
“The media will be able to cover the party's press conference from home,“ he added.
The prime minister’s special assistant also said precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus had been taken at the Awami League president’s office.
